Informed Making: Data Visualization Through Quilting In-Person
Want to learn alternative methods of data presentation? Or maybe you have been wanting an opportunity to learn the basics of quilting! Either way, in this workshop instructor, Alison Roth, will be demostrating how to represent data through the textile process of quilting. This workshop will be using a week of temperature readings as the example data set, utilizing different fabrics to represent different days of the week. Participants will get to select their own farbrics to ultimately create their own data map and turn it into a quilted placemat! Experience with a sewing machine and/or handsewing is encoraged but not required. All materials will be provided.
