Día de los Muertos: Papel Picado, Marigolds and More

Día de los Muertos: Papel Picado, Marigolds and More In-Person

In collaboration with the Latino Cultural Center, the Knowledge Lab is hosting an event to prepare for Día de los Muertos!

Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a multi-day holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and parts of Latin America that honors loved ones who have died. Come to the lab to make decorations for your altar. We'll have colored tissue paper and templates to cut out your own papel picado or make your own tissue paper marigolds, as well as supplies to make your own nicho frames. This is an open event, no registration is required.

Be sure to also attend the Día de los Muertos event hosted by the Purdue University Latino Cultural Center in the PMU on November 4th from 6-8pm to engage in the celebration of ancestors who have passed. The event will also feature crafts, live performances, and traditional food, click this link to find out more: https://www.purdue.edu/lcc/events/dia-de-los-muertos.php
